The 9900R V2 Serial number is a string of numbers and letters unique to your unit that helps us identify your product and look up information regarding this specific product. Please look to the under side of your unit for the serial number.
An example serial number is shown below. The format will always be the same, 6 numbers, followed by '0011RB' and ending in 5 numbers: ######0011RB#####
How do I clean and maintain my unit?
A dirty sensor can cause errors, such as Double and Half errors, and reduce the performance of the 9900R V2. To maintain optimal performance, perform daily maintenance on the unit. Always turn off and unplug the machine before cleaning. Avoid using solvents like thinner or alcohol. Regular cleaning and maintenance can prevent most operational problems and extend the machine's lifespan. Use an air duster and a soft bristle brush to remove dust and debris from the unit's interior. When not in use for long periods, cover the machine to prevent dust accumulation. Pay special attention to the sensors, as dust or debris on them can lead to operational issues.

Why does my unit jam?
- If bills are fed incorrectly into the 9900R V2
- If bills have foreign objects like clips, etc.
- If a bill enters the path crookedly
- If bill guides are not installed properly
- If bills are very worn, torn, 'soft', or folded, the bills the bills may crumple in the bill path and get stuck.
- If jamming occurs frequently, there may be an issue with the feed gap adjustment, If the gap is too wide, the 9900R will be able to accept more than one note at a time into the bill path which will frequently cause jamming.

What is a feed gap? How do I adjust it?
The feed gap determines the height of the bill feed path and should be adjusted to the thickness of a single bill. If set too wide, multiple bills may enter simultaneously, causing DOUBLE and CHAIN errors. If set too narrow, bills may not pass through or could tear during feeding.

Does my unit detect counterfeit notes?
The Cassida 9900R is designed to detect and flag any suspected counterfeit notes. This unit provides 2CIS, UV, MG, and IR anti-counterfeit feature detection. To learn more about the detection features on the 9900R refer to the FAQ question, "What do MG, UV, and IR stand for? What's the difference?"
What do MG, UV, and IR stand for? What's the difference?
The 9900R uses three primary counterfeit detection techniques:
- MG (Magnetic Feature Detection): US currency has unique magnetic signatures created by specific magnetic ink in exact locations on each denomination. The 9900R scans for these features and flags any bill lacking them or having them in incorrect positions as 'SUSPECT.'
- UV (Ultraviolet Feature Detection): US bills have ultraviolet features invisible to the naked eye. The 9900R utilizes UV emitters and sensors to detect these anti-counterfeit features and flags any note lacking the correct UV characteristics.
- IR (Infrared Feature Detection): Similar to UV detection, US currency includes hidden infrared features. The 9900R scans bills for these infrared features, rejecting any that do not meet the criteria as 'SUSPECT.'
What could cause false counterfeit detection?
A detector may flag genuine currency as 'SUSPECT' for several reasons:
- Condition of Bills: Worn, bent, torn, or crumpled bills may have compromised anti-counterfeit features, such as worn magnetic ink, affecting detection.
- Dirty or Damaged Sensors: Dirty or malfunctioning sensors may fail to detect the necessary anti-counterfeit features.
- Calibration Issues: Incorrect sensor calibration or operating conditions can lead to false positives.

Why is my unit counting notes incorrectly?
Miscounts often result from improper currency loading, with the 9900R V2 typically displaying an error and prompting for a reload. Poor maintenance, such as dirty sensors, can also cause issues, as the unit relies on clear sensing to verify genuine currency.
Obscured sensors may lead to 'SUSPECT' errors or incorrect denominations. In rare cases, electromechanical failures can cause incorrect sensing of all notes. For recurring denomination errors, contact Cassida Technical Support for repair.
Why does my unit reject so many notes?
The number of rejected notes varies by mode. In SORT mode, all notes not matching the first bill will be rejected. In FACE or ORIENT mode, notes that do not match the face or orientation of the first note will be rejected. For detailed information on modes and features, check the 9900R V2 User Manual.
Does this unit sort bills?
Yes, the Cassida 9900R uses advanced sensing to identify note denominations and automatically counts or sorts currency as specified. What type of fuse does this unit use?
The 9900R uses a F2A250V 20mm x 5mm fuse located above the AC power inlet. If the unit does not power on, check this fuse. If replacing the fuse does not resolve the issue, please contact Cassida Customer Service.
What does the 3-year warranty cover?

Feed Gap Adjustment
Feed gap adjustment of the unit is always performed before shipment. Sometimes during transit or after a long period of use the feed gap might change. Feed gap that is not correctly adjusted can affect the overall performance of the Cassida 9900R V2 and, which can lead to a variety of issues such as multiple bills at the same time being pulled into the bill feed mechanism, jamming, miscounting, and Double Note (DBL) Error.

Calibration Procedure
The contact image sensors (CIS), Ultraviolet (UV), and Infrared (IR) sensors of the unit are calibrated properly from the factory. With regular, basic use, the sensor's sensitivity decreases which can lead to ID errors. To resolve this issue, the unit can be re-calibrated using the white calibration card that came with the unit.
