Where is the serial number for my unit?

A:Your serial number is a string of numbers and letters unique to your unit located underside of your unit.

How do I clean my unit and how often does it need to be cleaned?

A:Standard maintenance and cleaning of the unit are important and are recommended to prolong the product's lifespan significantly. Cleaning the unit helps prevent issues that may lead to costly repairs.

To get the best results from Cassida Tiger the following maintenance is recommended on a daily basis:

Clean all the sensors in the machine with a soft brush and a compressed air duster.

When not using your machine for an extended period of time, cover it with a cloth or plastic sheeting to prevent dust from settling inside.

For location of the Tiger's sensors refer to section 5.3 of the Tiger's User Manual that came with your unit.

What does this error mean?

A:
Error Code Cause Solution
UU Suspect bill detected. Remove the last bill from the stacker and press the "S" button to continue counting. Refer to section 4.1.1 counterfeit detection of the Tiger user manual for more details.
MG Suspect bill detected. Remove the last bill from the stacker and press the "S" button to continue counting. The suspect bill will not be added to the count. Refer to section 4.2 of the Tiger user manual for more details.
dbL The last counted bill is a double note Check if the last 2 bills in the stacker. Remove all other bills from the stacker and recount them. Refer to section 4.3 of the Tiger user manual for more details.
HLF A half or torn bill is detected. Remove the half-bill from the stacker. Remove all other bills from the stacker and recount them. Refer to section 4.3 of the Tiger user manual for more details
CHN More than two notes have passed through at the same time. Remove all bills from the stacker and recount them. Refer to section 4.4 of the Tiger user manual for more details.
ERR A

1. There are bills in the hopper

2. Hopper sensor may have collected dust.

1. Remove bills from the hopper, restart the machine and allow the self-check process to complete.

2. Clean the sensor with a can of compressed air or a soft brush.

ERR B1

ERR B2

Left counting sensor may have collected dust.

Right counting sensor may have collected dust.

 Clean the sensor with a can of compressed air or a soft brush.
dd A non-standard sized bill is detected Remove the last bill from the stacker and pres the "S" button to continue counting. Refer to section 4.5 of theTiger user manual not size detection for more details.
Bills jammed N/A Turn off the machine. Remove any jammed bills by lifting the font cover and turning rollers or wheels manually, if necessary. Refer to section 5.3 of the Tiger user manual for a diagram. Look for any foreign objects inside the machine, such as paper clips, rubber bands, etc. Remove any object that is found. Close the front cover, turn the machine on and restart counting.
Machine fails to detect counterfeit notes

1. The UV sensor may have collected dust.

2. Magnetic sensors may need cleaning.

1. Clean the UV sensor using compressed air or a soft brush.

2. Run a currency cleaning card through the machine to clean the magnetic sensors.
Inaccurate counting, recurrent "CHn" or "dbL" errors

1. If one of these errors occur and brand new bills are counted it may be that the feeding gapis too wide. The machine's gapis set for circulated bills and the feeding gap may need to be narrowed for counting brand new bills.

2. With time, the rubber rollers and rubber mat wear down increasing the feeding gap. Narrow the gap as necessary.

Narrow the gap slightly by turning the "feeding gap adjustment scew" clockwise (refer to part 1.3 Rear and front view) and try counting again.

Repeat the procedure until a suitablegap width is reached.

Does my unit detect counterfeit notes?

A:The Cassida Tiger is designed to detect and flag any suspected counterfeit notes. This unit utilizes Ultraviolet (UV), Infrared (IR), and Magnetic (MG) (MG only available on certain model) counterfeit detection methods.

What could cause false counterfeit detection?

A:There are a few reasons that a detector may flag genuine currency as suspect. If bills are worn, bent, torn, or crumpled, the anti-counterfeit features needed to verify a bill as genuine may be compromised. For example, the magnetic ink on a note may wear over time or heavy use, reducing the magnetic response to below detection thresholds. If the Tiger cannot verify the correct features expected on a note, the unit will flag that currency as ‘SUSPECT’. If sensors are dirty or damaged, the Tiger will not be able to detect the necessary anti-counterfeit features needed to verify currency as genuine. Another possible reason is that the detection sensors may be incorrectly calibrated, lost reference, or be under operating conditions that cause false positives. In order to reduce these error types, it is advised to operate the unit out of direct sunlight and reduce interference that may cause sensor errors. If this occurs frequently under normal operation, please contact Cassida Technical Support for troubleshooting or service.

Why is my unit counting notes incorrectly?

A:One of the most common reasons for miscounting is improper bill loading. In most cases the Tiger will display an error message. For description and resolution of the error, please see the Tiger User Manual, or find the previous question that discusses error messages.The second most common reason of miscounting is poor maintenance of the unit. Eash sensor needs to be cleaned and free of any debris to operate correctly. Due to the complexity of the sensing mechanisms, the unit must be able to sense all features which are expected on genuine currency. SUSPECT errors and wrong denomination errors may occur if sensors are obscured.In rare cases, electromechanical failure of the unit will cause all notes to be sensed incorrectly. For frequent, repeatable improper denomination errors, please contact Cassida Technical Support for repair.

A:Yes, with BATCH mode you can set a customized amount for bills while counting.

Does this unit keep count of bills added?

A:Yes, you can toggle on and off ADD mode for counting multiple or seperate batches of bills.

Does this unit recognize note value?

A:No, the Tiger does not recognize note value.

Does this unit sort bills?

A:No, the Tiger does not sort bills, it only counts.

Can this unit count a mix stack of bills?

After reviewing nearly every bill counter in this price range, I chose this one. It operates flawlessly and quickly, reducing the time needed for checks significantly. However, I realized that I should have skipped the counterfeit bill detector feature. When checking, it's too late to do anything about a fake bill. Your cashiers are the first line of defense against bad money, and the bank will handle the rest. The machine's attempt to detect counterfeit bills is more of a hindrance than a help. It's more likely to catch a worn or torn bill than a fake one, causing the machine to stop and requiring you to remove the bill from the tray and press a button to continue counting. Additionally, the counter deducts what it believes to be a bad bill from the total count, so you must remember to add one to the displayed count. I would have saved money by choosing a unit without counterfeit bill detection, which would have been more effective at its intended purpose of counting without wasting time on detecting bad money.

Some reviews claimed this device couldn't tally different currencies, but that's untrue. I've utilized it for Mexican Pesos, Euros, and dollars with no problems. Keep in mind that it only counts the number of bills, not their worth. If you require a machine that counts the worth, you'll have to pay more. I've had it for three months and it's been running smoothly.

This product handles $5, $10, $20, $50, and $100 like a champ. However, when I attempt to count one dollar bills, it always gets stuck before it can even tally 20 bills. I've tried eliminating all torn and crumpled bills before counting, but it still gets jammed. Even when I removed the bills that caused the jam and tried again, it still got stuck. I reached out to the manufacturer, but the customer service representative was not helpful at all. They suggested that it's likely due to worn bills causing the jam. Customer support showed me how to lower the machine's sensitivity (something the customer service rep didn't do), but even after doing that, it still gets jammed constantly. I work at a large church where we only use the machine once a week, and we have hundreds of one dollar bills to count each week. After all the tinkering, we missed the 30-day return window, so we're stuck with a dud. Had I known, I would have purchased the pricier model that allows you to adjust the counting speed. I believe that would have helped with the jamming. This machine can run through 100 bills in 2 seconds, but if it keeps getting stuck, what's the point? Perhaps you need to buy a bank-grade machine that costs $1,000 or more. For me, this was a $150 waste, and I'm back to counting bills by hand. Update: Cassida was kind enough to let us upgrade to the Cassida Advantec75 model and pay the difference. The Advantec does an excellent job of counting all bills, including ones at a slower speed. I'm still giving the Tiger model a rating of 1.

The invoices tend to jam and aren't consistently precise. You'll still require a calculator to determine the genuine total of the invoices, and you can't merge them with any other invoices.
